Education Minister’s Press Office: Yarak has requested a temporary suspension of his duties at the Ministry & will maintain his responsibilities alongside the Minister

NNA – Education Minister’s press office issued a statement today, in which it denied the circulated news on social media about the resignation of the Director General of the Education Ministry, Fadi Yarak, stating that the Director-General of Education is still practicing his duties and has never hesitated to pursue his responsibilities within the Ministry, but has merely requested a temporary suspension of said duties around three months ago, in compliance with the personnel policy and the approval of the Civil Service Council.

“The decision pertaining to his request was postponed until the Council of Ministers resumed its sessions,” the statement indicated, adding that Yarak’s request has nothing to do with resigning from his duties at the Education Ministry but is rather due to his wish to assume a specific higher education task in one of the Arab countries that requested to benefit from his expertise for a certain period, “a task which we perceive as valuable to education in Lebanon and the Arab world, and will lead to acquiring new experiences that will benefit Lebanon in this difficult stage,” the statement said.

“There is no doubt that Mr. Fadi Yarak's morality, efficiency, and contributions to education in Lebanon necessitate his return after completing his mission to serve the Lebanese educational sector at its various levels,” the statement concluded.
