NNA - Member of the Gas Stations Owners’ Syndicate, George Brax, on Friday told the National News Agency that
the drop in fuel prices was caused by the decline in the US dollar market exchange rate against the Lebanese Pound.
However, he made it clear that the price of imported gasoline remained unchanged, i.e. $620 per thousand liters due to the fact that it was rated based on the previous schedule at $17 and remained unchanged during the two days separating the two schedules.
“In the coming weeks, we can witness further declines in fuel prices in the event that the dollar price does not increase because international oil prices have been decreasing in general,” Brax added.
