NNA – Caretaker Prime Minister, Prime Minister-designate, Najib Mikati, on Wednesday followed up with Grand Serail visitors, on an array of socio-economic dossiers.
In this context, Premier-designate Mikati met with Head of the General Labor Confederation (GLC), Bechara Al-Asmar, at the head of a delegation that included representatives of independent authorities, public institutions, Beirut port, water authorities, Electricity of Lebanon, Electricity of Qadisha, Municipalities, wheat selos, Ogero, government hospitals and Television of Lebanon TL.
On emerging, Al-Asmar said that they relayed to the Premier the current stifling conditions and ordeal endured by the public sector institutions, independent authorities, municipalities and government hospitals.
Mikati also received Head of the Syndicate of Importers of Foodstuffs in Lebanon, Hani Bohsali, where they discussed the issue of imported foodstuff containers held at Beirut port due to the strike of public administration employees.
On the other hand, Mikati received at the Grand Serail MP Wael Abou Faour, who said on emerging that he raised with the Premier two issues, the first related to chronic diseases medicines and the other to social support program, in light of the stifling socio-economic conditions in the country.
On the other hand, Mikati received the Dean of the Order of Engineers in Tripoli and the North, Bahaa Harb, with discussions reportedly touching on the union's affairs.
The Prime Minister-designate also received Belgium's Ambassador to Lebanon, Hubert Cooreman, who came on a farewell visit upon the end of his diplomatic mission in the country.
On emerging, the Belgian Ambassador affirmed his country’s continuous support to Lebanon.
Ambassador Cooreman also wished Mikati success in forming a government as soon as possible.
Moreover, Mikati met at the Grand Serail with a delegation from the Lebanon's Feminist Civil Society Platform.
