Russian Ambassador to Damascus: Meeting of foreign ministers of Russia, Syria, Turkey and Iran postponed till next May

NNA - Russia's ambassador to Damascus, Alexander Yefimov, revealed that the date of the quadripartite meeting at the level of the foreign ministers of Syria, Turkey, Iran and Russia has been postponed to next month.

In a statement to the Syrian newspaper "Al-Watan", Yefimov said that the meeting, which was expected to take place on Monday, was postponed until the beginning of next May, stressing that "contacts and consultations are continuing between the concerned parties to reach positive results in this context."

Yevimov stressed that "the path of normalizing relations between Syria and Turkey is long, and all files and issues cannot be resolved and discussed in one or more rounds of negotiations."

Yefimov also stressed that "his country continues its efforts to hold the quadripartite meeting," expressing "optimism that positive results can be reached for holding the meeting at the level of foreign ministers."

"The path is long, but we are progressing in this path step by step," he added, according to "Sputnik" news agency.
