NNA - Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Friday met with his Iraqi counterpart, Mohammad Shia' Al-Sudani, in Riyadh prior to the pair’s participation in the Arab-Chinese summit organized this afternoon by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. During the meeting, the Prime Ministers of both countries confirmed a keen desire to strengthen ties between Lebanon, Iraq, and their peoples. 

Both men agreed to call the Joint Lebanese-Iraqi Higher Committee for a meeting in Beirut during the Iraqi Prime Minister’s next visit to Beirut. 

Moreover, the Iraqi Prime Minister reiterated his country’s commitment to keep supplying Lebanon with Iraqi oil in accordance with previously stipulated agreements. 

Mikati separately held a meeting with his Algerian counterpart, Ayman Abdel Rahman, with whom he discussed the outcome of Algiers summit last October.
