Al-Makari to Radio Lebanon: All respect to our government & state for succeeding in holding the elections despite all bets

NNA - Information Minister Ziad Al-Makari disclosed in an interview with "Radio Lebanon" this afternoon that no serious problems have occurred during the elections so far, referring to "some violations documented by the Supervisory Elections Board, alongside some associations."

"The most important thing at this stage is that the elections pass quietly, peacefully and democratically. This is what I see, and everyone is also following this on television and social media,” he said.

“Election day is not over yet, the day is long, and we will reach a place where results, surprises and disappointments can elicit reactions, and I hope that they will remain confined to the democratic competition," Al-Makari underlined.

“The elections are a positive step, as the renewal of political blood and the political class is the basis for building states. This is the message of the elections and this is their goal in the end,” the Minister asserted.

“All respect to our government and our state because it succeeded in holding the elections despite all the bets that were thrown right and left, and thank God the elections are taking place today and to the fullest, and I think they will continue in this manner,” he said.

Al-Makari saluted the "National News Agency", "Radio Lebanon" and "Lebanon TV" and all the Information Ministry's employees for their relentless efforts in striving to provide a wide media coverage of the elections.

“We will work towards improvement as much as we can throughout the remaining period, and I have been following things up with the Television, Agency and Radio since the early hours of the morning," he concluded.
