President Aoun from Foreign Ministry praises exerted efforts, hopes elections will end without problems, objections

NNA – Upon his arrival at the Foreign Ministry, President Michel Aoun visited the hall designated for media representatives covering the electoral process of Lebanese expatriates, where he toured the offices and control room and was briefed on the monitoring of the elections abroad.

The President underlined "the significant achievement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants and the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, and those concerned with following up on the progress of the Lebanese elections process in the Diaspora countries."

He also stressed on the "Mega Center" issue, which has not yet been approved, reiterating that the parliamentary elections at home will take place on time and noting that "had the MegaCenter been adopted, it would have made it easier for citizens to move around and achieved wider participation."

At the general hall designated for journalists, Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib welcomed  the President, who in turn praised all the efforts exerted to render this electoral process a success.

"What you are doing is not an easy job, and God willing, things will improve in the upcoming elections so that they will be easier,” Aoun said, referring to the possibility of having a "code" to vote in the future so that the results will come out without the need for ballot boxes which would be less costly to the state.

“I congratulate you and hope that the elections will end without problems or objections," President Aoun added.
