NNA - National News Agency correspondent reported that the Jbeil Highway has remained closed in both directions since last night, with the exception of the seaside road, which is witnessing heavy traffic. Police officers from the municipalities of Jbeil, Balat-Qartaboun and Mestita are working to facilitate traffic.

Young men from the Lebanese Forces, the Lebanese Kataeb Party, the National Liberal Party, and the Free Patriotic Movement, are gathering in said place, along with a number of MPs from the “Strong Republic” bloc, refusing to open the highway before knowing the fate of the Lebanese Forces’ coordinator, Pascal Sleiman, who was kidnapped yesterday on the Amchit-Tertej highway in the neighborhood of Al-Kharba.

“Strong Republic” bloc MP Ziad Al-Hawat, confirmed that “nothing is certain yet about Sleiman’s fate, and that the security forces and Lebanese army intelligence have been making efforts since yesterday to find out about his fate,” hoping that “the coming hours will bring good news.”

On the other hand, commercial, tourism and educational institutions adhered to the “Lebanese Forces” Party’s call for complete closure, which the Party had issued yesterday.
