NNA - US President Joe Biden reaffirmed on Wednesday his "steadfast" support for Israel in the face of Iran's threats to respond to the bloody attack on its consulate in Damascus, according to "Agence France-Presse".

Biden said during a joint press conference at the White House with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, that Iran “threatens to launch a major attack against Israel.”

He added: “As I told Prime Minister Netanyahu, our commitment to Israel’s security, in the face of these threats from Iran and its allies, is unwavering.”

Ona different note, Biden urged the parliament to vote immediately on a military support package for Ukraine worth tens of billions of dollars.

He told reporters after receiving Kishida: “There is overwhelming support for Ukraine among the majority of Democrats and Republicans. The vote must take place now.”
