NNA - The Kazakh Ministry of Emergencies announced the evacuation of more than 10,000 people, half of them children, in 7 regions, due to floods resulting from the rapid melting of snow, according to “Russia Today.”
A statement issued by the ministry’s press office said: “In the regions of Turkestan, Aktopinsk, Kostanay, West Kazakhstan, Akmola, Ulitau and Abay, 10,587 people were evacuated, including 5,101 children. There are 5,497 people in temporary residence centers, including 1,739 children.”
