NNA - Several explosions occurred this morning in central Kyiv after sirens sounded in the Ukrainian capital indicating a Russian raid, according to Agence France-Presse journalists.

At least five explosions were heard around 10:30 (8:30 GMT) after the warning of “missiles towards Kyiv,” following Kyiv being hit by two strikes last week.

The head of the military administration in Kyiv, Sergei Popko, said, "According to preliminary information, following a missile attack on Kyiv, shrapnel fell in the Pechersky district and a residential building was damaged."

In recent days, Russia has intensified its strikes on Ukraine, especially targeting the energy network, which led to power outages for hundreds of thousands of people.
