NNA - Slovak Republic Ambassador to Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq, Marek Varga, visited today the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music, where he met with the head of the Institute, Dr. Hiba Al Kawas, in her office at the National Conservatoire, with the aim of “establishing bridges of cultural cooperation between Lebanon and Slovakia, especially musical cooperation through collaboration between the Slovak Embassy in Lebanon and the National Higher Conservatory of Music.”

In this connection, Varga emphasized “strengthening cultural relations that unite the two countries, building musical bridges through cultural institutions, especially the National Conservatoire, and developing this cooperation to be fruitful and constructive through the exchange of experiences and musical and cultural energies."

In turn, Al Kawas expressed her appreciation for "all cultural initiatives that open up the world's musical and cultural scene," stressing the National Conservatoire's readiness "for any cooperation with friendly countries, led by the Slovak Republic, for the benefit of civilized development of nations."

She welcomed the "positive Slovak initiative for future cooperation."

The meeting was also a chance to discuss "activating cultural diplomacy that represents foreign countries in Lebanon for the sake of reaching an innovative formula for the advancement of civilized institutions through music and culture."
