NNA - Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants welcomed, in an issued statement on Friday, “the decision of the International Court of Justice to issue new temporary precautionary measures within the lawsuit filed by South Africa against Israel before the court on charges of committing the crime of genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza, and violating its obligations under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide.” .

The Ministry stressed the importance of the court's decision in terms of allowing the entry of humanitarian aid to stop the famine and the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe that violates all humanitarian and moral values.

The Foreign Ministry also called on the international community to take “immediate measures to stop the war on the Gaza Strip, cease the Israeli violations of international law and international humanitarian law, and implement Security Council Resolution 2728, in addition to the comprehensive and complete implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which guarantees calm and stability on Lebanon’s southern borders and ends the Israeli attacks and violations."
