NNA - Elected MP Ashraf Rifi stressed in a statement on Saturday, that "what Prime Minister Najib Mikati said about withdrawing the terms of the tender for the assignment of two gas-electricity plants in Beddawi and Zahrani, constitutes a continuation of a major crime committed against the Lebanese people who are immersed in darkness."

"The huge responsibility lies on Gebran Bassil, who is protected from Hezbollah, and who has taken over the Ministry of Energy since 2008 until today, as if it were his personal property, with all the failures, waste and corruption practiced in it, and the Lebanese are paying the price," he said.
 
"Lamenting over this perpetual crime is no longer acceptable, especially since it comes from those who are responsible," Rifi underlined.
 
He concluded: "I call on my fellow sovereign and change parliamentarians to render the electricity dossier as their first priority, and to agree on a plan of action inside and outside the parliament, to stop this crime and hold those involved accountable."
