NNA - Member of the Future bloc MP Samir Jisr said at a press conference in which he addressed the renewed clashes in the city of Tripoli "we are preparing for a new round of violence which, this time, began after shooting at two people in Jabal Mohsen, killing one and injuring the other."
"This was the spark to ignite the fighting in the city. It started with intermittent sniping operations, and escalated into launching bombs and shells, thus setting the fighting axes on fire. Dead and injured people are all innocent citizens and yet no measure are being taken," he regretted.
"How, why and for how long are the perennial questions that remain unanswered in Tripoli," Jisr said, pointing that despite all the security mayhem in the city, none of the attackers has been arrested which reflects judicial failure that makes the perpetrators of the twin bombings immune from the grip of justice.
The Future Deputy said "in light of the launch of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, we accept to participate in the government, but this participation has its motives and justifications."
Jisr announced three constants for the government topped by having a cabinet without a blocking third, respecting the constitutional norms - as the blocs propose the names and the Premier-designate forms the government in what serves national interests - and finally, clinging to the Baabda Declaration which includes staying aloof from the regional conflicts and not indulging in the Syrian war, along with an agreement on the defense strategy.
