Charbel, Abu Faour follow up on activities of security cell charged with displaced Syrians

NNA - Ministers of Interior and Social Affairs, respectively Marwan Charbel and Wael Abu Faour, met Thursday over the work of the security cell tasked with following up on the condition of the Syrians displaced into Lebanon to flee war in their country.

In a word delivered on the occasion, Minister Charbel indicated that the dossier of the displaced Syrians and Palestinians into Lebanon was a concern for the Lebanese state, international NGOs, and civil associations on the humanitarian and social levels.

"The government fully assumes its responsibility in that respect and exerts efforts through the Ministries of Social Affairs so as to provide social, medical, and humanitarian care services," he said.

Charbel shone light on the relation and coordination between both Ministries in terms of the displaced dossier.

For his part, Minister Abu Faour confirmed that the Lebanese government has approved a rescue plan presented by the President of the Republic during the international meeting for the donor countries in Kuwait.

He said Lebanon was still waiting for the pledged contributions by these countries.
