NNA - Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Marwan Charbel, said Saturday during a dinner party that any electoral law must take into account reform, unity and parity.
Traders Association of Jbeil held a dinner banquet at Edde Sands honoring a number of economic figures. Representatives of former President Amine Gemayel, MP Michel Aoun, and head of Lebanese Forces, Samir Geagea, were among the large crowd present at the event.
"The relation between security and economy is tight...and is also linked to political security," said Charbel who suggested that mending political security demands collaboration from all factions to genuinely apply self-dissociation, particularly from events in neighboring Syria.
"Any electoral law must take into consideration reforming the political system, preserving internal unity, and upholding fair and equitable representation of all Lebanese constituents."
Charbel stressed that elections must take place on their constitutional due date.
