NNA - Liberation and Development bloc MP Kassem Hashem said on Tuesday that Speaker of the House Nabih Berri was seeking an electoral formula that combines the positive points of each of the majority and proportionality-based electoral laws.



Interviewed by Al-Fajr radio station, Hashem expressed hope that the sub-committee, tasked to seek an appropriate formula for the 2013 elections, would extend its meetings for further discussions.



"Speaker Berri favors a one-district based proportionality law, but supported the Orthodox Gathering's law to mitigate the obsessions of a certain political team in Lebanon," added Hashem.
