NNA - Progressive Socialist Party leader, MP Walid Jumblatt, on Monday cabled the President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, to congratulate him on a fresh vote at the UN General Assembly upgrading the status of Palestine.



"The world said yes to the state of Palestine and Jerusalem as its capital, thus adding to history new facts upon which an international equality enabling the Palestine state to address the world with a new logic will be established," the message read.



"Before this historic development, and building on the Palestinian national rights, the confrontation with the Zionist entity will be nowadays directly before international justice, until the Security Council mobilizes to halt settlements and hostilities," Jumblatt said herein.



He also highlighted the necessity to reach inter-Palestinian reconciliation and understanding.
