NNA – Prime Minister Najib Mikati tweeted this evening in response to a tweet by French President Emmanuel Macron, saying: "The call that took place between me and His Excellency French President Emmanuel Macron and His Highness the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is an important step towards reviving the historical brotherly relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."

He added, "I would like to especially thank President Macron and HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their keenness on maintaining friendship towards Lebanon. I would like to confirm my government's commitment to respecting its adherence to reform."

Macron’s tweet:

The French President had earlier tweeted: "I had a frank and meaningful conversation with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman about our political priorities: the security and stability of the region, with priority given to Lebanon. We had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Najib Mikati, during which commitments were exchanged."
