NNA - Member of Parliament, Walid Jumblatt, expressed fear on Wednesday that the Orthodox Gathering's electoral law would disintegrate the country and take it back to a total state of seclusion.
Interviewed by "Future TV", the MP's words came at the backdrop of the Joint Parliamentary Committee's vote in favor of the Orthodox plan, a vote which some political parties rejoiced, while others dismissed as bad omen for the future of the country.
"Yesterday's vote was purely political," the PSP Leader said, saying that said formula was doomed to create a rift among Sunnis and Shiites, as well as Druze.
"If this law makes it through Parliament, we will practically be having 19 Parliaments represented by 19 sects, and this strikes coexistence," Jumbaltt warned.
