NNA - The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned the incident of burning a vehicle belonging to the peacekeeping forces (UNIFIL) near Beirut Airport, which led to the injury of a member of the international force, according to what was reported by the Emirati news agency, WAM.

Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, affirmed the UAE’s strong condemnation of the attack on international forces, stressing that targeting peace forces is a violation of the principles of international law and the provisions of UN Security Council Resolution # 1701.

She also affirmed "the UAE's firm stance and support for Lebanon, its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and its support for the important role played by the United Nations peacekeeping force in Lebanon," eexpressing the UAE's "solidarity with the countries participating in the UNIFIL forces, and its wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured person."
