NNA - Iran began air defense drills on Saturday, state media reported, according to "Reuters".
The war maneuvers come as Iranian leaders face the threat that Trump could allow Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to attack Iranian nuclear sites, as well as tightening U.S. sanctions on Iran’s oil sector through a “maximum pressure” policy.
“In these drills, defense systems will practice fending off air, missile and cyber threats in conditions (similar to) a real battlefield… to protect the country’s skies and sensitive and vital areas,” Iranian state television said.
Saturday’s drills are part of two months of exercises that began on Jan. 4 and have already included drills in which the Revolutionary Guards defended key nuclear facilities at Natanz against mock missile and drone attacks, state media said.
