Turkey: One person was killed and 11 others were injured as a result of a clash in an electoral center

NNA - One person was killed and 11 injured, two of them seriously, as a result of a clash that included gunfire in one of the voting centers for the municipal elections in the Sur area in the city of Diyarbakir in southeastern Turkey, according to "Russia Today."

According to media reports, a clash broke out between two groups of voters, during which they used weapons, sticks, and stones.

As a result of the incident, one person was killed and 11 others were injured, two of whom were taken to hospital in serious condition. Two ambulances were also damaged by stones being thrown at them.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan previously announced that the upcoming municipal elections on March 31 will be the last of his political career.

Later, the official representative of the ruling Justice and Development Party, Omer Celik, indicated that Erdogan’s statement did not mean his retirement from politics.
