NNA - The media center of the Egyptian Council of Ministers denied reports about a decision to raise the price of a loaf of subsidized bread, starting next July, according to "Russia Today" news agency.

The media center stated, in a statement today, Saturday, that "in contact with the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, it denied these reports, stressing that there is no truth to raising the price of the subsidized loaf of bread, starting from next July, and that no decisions have been issued in this regard."

The ministry stressed, "The continuation of the system of disbursing subsidized loaves of bread to citizens on ration cards with only 5 piasters without any increases," adding that the system benefits 71 million citizens, provided that the state bears the difference in the production cost.
