NNA - Four smugglers were killed and others were injured while trying to cross the border from Syria into the Kingdom of Jordan, with large quantities of drugs in their possession.

The French Press Agency quoted an official in the General Command of the Armed Forces as saying that "the front-line monitoring border guards, in coordination with the security services and the Drug Control Department, spotted a group of people coming from Syrian territory to Jordanian territory, who tried to cross the border illegally."
