NNA – The Saudi Kingdom will host next Wednesday the meeting of the Strategic Vision Group, "Russia and the Islamic World", which will be held this year at the Saudi city of Jeddah under the slogan, "Dialogue and Prospects for Cooperation", with the wide participation of officials, scholars and thinkers from Russia and the Islamic world, to discuss common issues and ways to enhance cooperation in the face of challenges.

The meeting comes within the framework of Russia's efforts to strengthen its relations with the Islamic world, as well as within the framework of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's initiative for dialogue between followers of religions and cultures, as it is hosting the meeting for the second time, after it hosted its fourth session in Jeddah in 2008.

The group includes 33 government and public figures from 27 Muslim countries, including former prime ministers, former foreign ministers and many religious figures from the Muslim world. The group is currently focused on developing measures to strengthen long-term cooperation between Russia and Islamic countries, coordination of joint measures to combat international terrorism and practical implementation of the strategic partnership between the Russian Federation and the Islamic world.
