NNA - Lebanon’s Army Commander, Major General Rodolphe Haykal, on Tuesday received at his Yarzeh office, MP Melhem Riachy, with whom he discussed the country’s general situation.
Army commander Haykal also received in his office, UK Deputy Chief of Defense Staff, Air Marshal Harvey Smith, and an accompanying delegation, in the presence of British Ambassador to Lebanon, Hamish Cowell.
Discussions reportedly touched on ways to enhance cooperation between the armies of both countries.
Maj. Gen. Haykal later received the European Union's Special Envoy for the Mediterranean, Patrick Simonnet, and an accompanying delegation, with whom he discussed the general situation in Lebanon and the broad region.
Additionally, the army chief received respectively the Head of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) Office, Mohammed Khafaji, and the President of the "Sesobel" Foundation, Fadia Safi, along with an accompanying delegation. During these two meetings, various issues were discussed.
