NNA - National Defense Minister, Major General Michel Menassa, on Tuesday met at his Yarzeh office, UK Deputy Chief of Defense Staff for Strategy and Military Operations, Air Marshal Harvey Smith, in the presence of British Ambassador to Lebanon, Hamish Cowell, and a military delegation.

Bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed.

During the meeting, the British delegation affirmed the UK's commitment to continuing its support for the Lebanese Army, particularly in the area of ​​border control and surveillance.

Minister Menassa stressed "Lebanon's commitment to implementing Resolution 1701 and respecting the cessation of hostilities arrangements," urging Britain to "contribute to pressuring the Israeli enemy to withdraw from the positions it still occupies in southern Lebanon."

The situation on the eastern and northern borders with Syria and the measures taken to control them were also discussed.
