NNA – Hezbollah Party Secretary-General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, responded to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s threats to the resistance by sending out similar threats, adding that the days between them will show.
Speaking at the "Quds Shield" festival on the occasion of International Jerusalem Day held at the Sayyid al-Shuhada complex in Beirut’s southern suburb on Friday, Nasrallah said that the party will respond without hesitation to any security incident that occurs in Lebanon.
"What happened in the south was a major event in view of the situation since 2006," Nasrallah went on, adding: "We believe that this policy of silence worries and terrifies the enemy, and this is one of the fruits of what happened last week."
"The enemy that threatens the Lebanese and bombs Syria must remain concerned and terrified, and this establishes the balance of deterrence and the rules of engagement," he explained, stressing that "the balance of deterrence is what made the Israeli response limited and absurd.”
Nasrallah indicated that Israel did not bomb any Hezbollah infrastructure or site, yet lied to its people in this regard proving its weakness. He added, "One of Netanyahu's lies is that the Lapid government signed an agreement with Hezbollah, and everyone knows that this is a lie."
On the Israeli enemy’s attacks on Syrian territories, Hezbollah’s Chief noted that when the Syrian army is deployed on a battle line for hundreds of kilometers, it cannot be asked to open another front. He added that the Syrian position on these attacks may alter at any time, citing what happened last week at the level of drones in southern Syria as an indication of this possible change.
Referring to the West Bank, Nasrallah asserted that it is the shield of Jerusalem, with its patience, steadfastness, resistance, and great endurance. “In order for the Palestinian people to remain steadfast in the West Bank and Jerusalem, we must support them with money and weapons,” Nasrallah added, noting that considering the West Bank as the shield of Jerusalem implies the obligation of supporting the West Bank.
In this context, Nasrallah warned Tel Aviv, saying: "The Israeli game in Jerusalem, Lebanon or Syria may drag the region into a major war," noting that "the enemy's folly, especially in the past few months, may push the region into war."
He added: "To the Israeli, we say beware, for Jerusalem is a red line, and we are with Palestine and we will not abandon it."
Nasrallah stressed that "the Saudi-Iranian agreement has positive effects, especially in slowing down normalization with Israel, at the very least."
He continued, "All the atmosphere that comes from Yemen and Saudi Arabia calls for optimism, and this makes us happy."
"They were talking about forming a Sunni-Israeli or Arab-Israeli axis in the face of Iran...and it fell," Nasrallah went on, emphasizing that "the real support for the resistance is Iran, led by Ali Khamenei, which is why the blockade and the formation of axes against it took place."
