NNA - Caretaker Minister of Information, Ziad Makary, on Wednesday received head of the Association of Certified Topographical Engineers in Lebanon, Dr. Sarkis Fadous, who discussed with the Minister of Information the arrests that targeted members of the Association “in an inappropriate way.” 

“I am entrusted with 2000 members, and I do not consider that all those I’m in charge of are people; it is very possible that there are some who have been causing problems within the profession,” Fadous said on emerging. 

However, the latter insisted that the security and judicial authorities not deal with everyone in the same manner “as there are many respected people in the union.”

“We are not planning to defend bad people, and we’d rather cooperate with the security, judicial, and professional authorities. But in capacity as the person in charge, I do not accept that any security or judicial authority act without being informed beforehand,” Fadous added.
