NNA - House Speaker Nabih Berri has called the parliament to meet at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 13, to elect a new president of the republic.

On the other hand, Speaker Berri received at the Second Presidency in Ain El-Tineh Caretaker Minister of Industry, George Bouchikian, over the current general conditions, especially issues related to the national industry.

Speaker Berri also met with the Assistant Secretary General of the Arab League, Ambassador Hossam Zaki, and his accompanying delegation, with whom he discussed the current general situation and the latest developments.

Ambassador Zaki left Ain El-Tineh without making a statement.

This afternoon, Berri received President of the French Economic, Social and Environmental Council, Thierry Beaudet, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of President of Lebanon’s Economic, Social and Environmental Council, Charles Arbid.

Discussions reportedly touched on the current economic situation and the bilateral relations between the two countries.
