Wadih El-Khazen bids Spiteri farewell at the end of his mission in Lebanon

NNA - Maronite General Council Dean, former Minister Wadih El-Khazen, contacted Sunday the Vatican State Ambassador in Lebanon, Monsignor Joseph Spiteri, bidding him farewell as his mission is nearing its end in Beirut and he'll be moving to a new position in the State of Mexico.

During the call, El-Khazen underlined the "importance of the Apostolic Nuncio's work in developing fraternal relations between the Vatican and Lebanon," thanking him for his devotion and the affection of His Holiness Pope Francis and praising the role he played in developing fraternal relations between the two countries.

For his part, Spiteri expressed his regret to be leaving Lebanon, "where he spent many years among family and brethrens," wishing them all the best, and "the return of wellbeing and stability to the hearts of all Lebanese."

El-Khazen wished Ambassador Spiteri all success in his new assignments in Mexico.
