NNA - Prime Minister-designate, Najib Mikati, on Wednesday met at the Grand Serail with Caretaker Minister of Labor, Mustafa Bayram, over public sector dossier.

Following the meeting, Caretaker Minister Bayram said, "I discussed with the Premier the public sector dossier and the open strike. Yesterday, I held a meeting at the Ministry of Labor with the public sector Employees’ League and we came up with several proposals that I conveyed to the Prime Minister, while adding several matters of concern to the public sector.”

Bayram considered these set proposals as a positive message to the public sector employees to bridge the gap between the citizen, the employee, and the authority.

Minister Bayram also called on the public sector Employees' League to suspend the open strike so as not to disrupt people's affairs.

He said, "I will communicate again with the Employees’ League to follow up on open dialogues,” voicing openness to any idea or suggestion.

Bayram also indicated that PM Mikati informed him that he had contacted the Ministry of Finance and that salaries and social aid will be paid next Monday at the latest.

Separately, Mikati held a meeting with Caretaker Minister of Public Health, Dr. Firas Al-Abyad, Minister Bayram, MP Wael Abu Faour and a delegation from the Board of Directors of Sibline Governmental Hospital, with whom he discussed the conditions of the public hospital and its employees, as well as the means to help all public institutions including the Sibline Hospital.

On the other hand, Mikati met respectively with Caretaker Minister of the Displaced, Issam Sharaf El-Din, and then the President of the Lebanese Chinese Business Association, Ali Mahmoud Al-Abdullah.
