NNA – On the sidelines of the Rome Mediterranean Conference, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Abdallah Bou Habib met Saturday with his Italian counterpart Luigi Di Maio, where they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the support that Italy provides to Lebanon at the political, economic and financial levels.

The Italian aid to the Lebanese army was also discussed, in addition to projects that could contribute to strengthening Lebanon’s state institutions and administrations.

Minister Di Maio affirmed "his country's continued participation in the UNIFIL peacekeeping forces in the interest of Lebanon, its stability and sovereignty."

The Syrian displacement issue, illegal migration and the latest regional developments also featured high during their mutual talks.
