TAKREEM Foundation hosts the TAKminds Forum titled “The Politics of Trauma and Collective Healing”, in
partnership with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung at the Charles Corm Foundation

NNA - TAKREEM Foundation, in partnership with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), proudly hosted the TAKminds Forum: "The Politics of Trauma and Collective Healing" on October 13, 2023, at the Charles Corm Foundation in Beirut. The event served as a platform for an inspiring lineup of speakers and thought-provoking discussions. The forum encompassed an array of engaging panel discussions, keynote presentations, and interactive workshops, all centered around the profound exploration of trauma understanding and the pathways to achieve collective healing. The TAKminds Forum embodied TAKREEM and KAS’ commitment to meaningful dialogue, healing, and societal progress. The forum opened with a warm welcome from the TAKREEM Foundation Chairman, Ricardo Karam, and Micheal Bauer, Director of KAS Lebanon office followed by the first keynote speech of the day, given by Dr. Farid Talih, Vice-chair of the American University of Beirut’s Department of Psychiatry. The first panel, led by Moderator Abdel Halim Jabr, featured the insightful contributions of Bachir Moujaess, Camille Ammoun, and Abir Saksouk. They explored the path from broken cities to urban healing and the influence of urban design on community cohesion, emphasizing the importance of inclusive and healing spaces while addressing the historical impact of urban trauma and the need to involve communities in planning for healing and inclusivity. The second panel, moderated by Nadim Ghantous, showcased the expertise of Mona Hallak, Pierre Issa, and Rima Freiji, focusing on the role of private institutions in fostering social cohesion and effective governance. The panel emphasized private institutions’ roles in addressing critical societal issues and their potential to complement public efforts. It discussed how they can play a significant role in creating more cohesive and wellgoverned communities, highlighting examples and strategies for their involvement. Renowned speaker Richard Rabbat delivered the forum’s second keynote address, followed by the third panel guided by Antoine Karam, featuring Rima Ramadan, Lea Baroudi, Alaa Minawi, and Arpie Mankassarian. This panel delved into unconventional methods of learning and growth that foster unity and understanding. It featured discussions on innovative approaches and experiences that contribute to the collective development and cohesion of society, providing valuable insights and inspiration. The first interactive workshop, titled “Healing through Sound and Subtle Somatic Shifts”, was led by the cofounders of Tantric Energetics and 3Peak Coaching & Solutions, Krisana Locke, and Mazen Harb. The second interactive workshop, titled “The Theatre from Within” was led by Alaa Minawi. Throughout the day, an all-day screening of the powerful documentary "Stitching Palestine" by Carole Mansour was shown, which celebrated the resilience and unity of the Palestinian people.
