NNA – The Judicial Investigator in the Beirut port blast case, Judge Tarek Bitar, confirmed to the "National News Agency" that he is continuing his duties to investigate the port blast file until the indictment is issued.

Judge Bitar also indicated that the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation, Judge Ghassan Oueidat, is recused from the file, and he is also a defendant, and as such he cannot take any decision in this case.

Bitar also pointed out that “the decisions taken by Judge Oueidat regarding the release of the “Beirut Port blast case” detainees are illegal and should not be implemented."
