NNA - Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation, Ghassan Oueidat, on Tuesday told Judge Tarek Bitar that his probe into the Beirut port blast remained suspended, a day after Bitar resumed his investigation and filed charges against a number of senior officials.
Moreover, Oueidat denied in a chat with journalists claims that he intended to press charges against Bitar, deeming information surrounding the matter factually baseless.
Oueidat further stressed that he had been informed by the press about Bitar’s decision to resume investigations into the Beirut port blast.
The Public Prosecutor finally clarified that he had not been informed about any charges that had been pressed by Judge Bitar neither against him nor against other judges.
