More than 350 judges suspend services in light of Central Bank’s decision to stop paying their wages at LBP 8000 per 1 USD rate

NNA - More than 350 judges (out of 560) have unanimously agreed to stop working completely after the Lebanese Central Bank stopped paying their wages at LBP 8000 per 1 USD rate.

It is to note that Mount Lebanon’s Public Prosecutor, Judge Ghada Aoun, has agreed to this, along with other senior judges.

Moreover, member of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Danny Shibli, has also stopped working, marking the first time that a judge from the Judicial Council stood alongside judges in the open.

Yesterday, judges from the Judicial Council, the State Shura Council, and the Court of Audit also agreed to suspend their services.
