NNA - US Secretary of State Marco Rubio reaffirmed President Donald Trump's commitment to trying to end the war in Ukraine during a phone call with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on Saturday, according to a statement issued by his ministry, as reported by Agence France-Presse.
US State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce said that Rubio "reaffirmed President Trump's commitment to finding a solution to the conflict in Ukraine," adding that they "discussed, in addition, the possibility of working together on a number of other bilateral issues."
Moscow announced on Saturday that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his American counterpart Marco Rubio agreed during a phone call to show an intention to "cooperate" on international issues, including Ukraine.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the two ministers expressed "mutual readiness to cooperate on current international issues, including the settlement regarding Ukraine, the situation regarding Palestine and the entire Middle East, as well as other regional regions."
