College Protestant Francais hosts ceremony to award 191 students with Cambridge Assessment English certificates

NNA - Every year Cambridge Assessment International Education issues certificates to recognise students’ completion of the Cambridge Assessment English qualifications. This year, 191 students from College Protestant Francais (CPF) were awarded a certificate at a special ceremony under the patronage of the British Council and Cambridge English.

Cambridge Assessment exams measure a candidate’s ability to communicate in English, whether through speaking, listening, reading or writing. Studying for these exams encourages students to develop the skills they need to use English effectively. The exams are internationally recognised and are used in over 130 countries by universities, employers and government bodies. In attaining these qualifications and certificates today, the students are increasing their education and employment options in the future.

The ceremony was attended by Her Excellency, Chargé d’Affaires of the British Embassy, Alyson King, Mayssa Dawi, British Council Country Director, and Olivier Gautier, Principal, College Protestant Francais as well as friends and family members of the students.

British Council Lebanon Country Director, Mayssa Dawi said, “British Council’s partnership with College Protestant Francais started in 2016 through the delivery of Cambridge Assessment exams. I’m proud to see this union flourish over the years with almost 200 students being recognised for their success today and I look forward to working closely with the school and all French schools in the future so students can continue to be able to complete their UK qualifications and study abroad.”

On the ceremony, Mr. Olivier Gautier, CPF Principal commented, “This year 2022 has been a very challenging one for teachers and parents, but most of all for students. Nevertheless, students have shown remarkable resilience and have come out stronger than ever as has been demonstrated by the outstanding performance in the completion of their Cambridge exams this year with a 99% success rate. My congratulations to all the students here today and heartfelt thanks to the educators and parents who have provided unwavering guidance to the students as well as the British Council on their ongoing support and impeccable delivery of the exams.”

CPF’s vision to undertake Cambridge English Assessments so that students can benefit from global qualifications that can set them on the right path towards continuing their higher education studies abroad.

Globally, British Council Partner Schools works with more than 2,100 schools, supports over 60,000 teachers and touches the lives of about one million students. This event helps to support the mission of the British Council in building connections, understanding and trust through education. -- British Council Lebanon
