"As for Russian-Lebanese relations, these relations are celebrating their 80th anniversary this year. We are united by relations in a variety of areas, there is co-operation between the foreign ministries of Russia and Lebanon. The Lebanese foreign minister and Minister Sergei Lavrov and his deputy Mikhail Bogdanov are in constant contact, and this demonstrates the strength of the relations - cultural, political, social, public - that unite our countries. This has been going on for 80 years. We wish these relations between Russia and Lebanon to be further strengthened," Abu Zeid said during a teleconference dedicated to the end of Ramadan - the holiday of Uraza Bayram at the international multimedia press centre of the Sputnik Media Agency.

He emphasised that the world is now experiencing a period "when the end of the era of the unipolar world embodied by the US is taking place."

Uraza Bayram is a holiday marking the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and fasting. From early morning on this day, solemn sermons and collective namaz are held in mosques. This year the religious holiday is celebrated on Wednesday, 10 April. In this connection, Wednesday will be a day off in a number of Russian regions with predominantly Muslim populations, for example, in Bashkiria, Tatarstan, Adygea, the Chechen Republic, Kabardino-Balkaria and other Russian regions.--Sputnik
