NNA – Following is the response of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Lebanese Republic to the article by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov:
“For the Ukrainian people, who daily experience the bombardment of cities by Russian planes, the destruction of critical infrastructure (so much praised by the propagandists) and the torture in the occupied territories by the Russian army, the statement of the Russian Ambassador Alexander Rudakov about the "non-involvement" of the Russian military in the massacre in Bucha was nothing new. Russian diplomacy has lost its professionalism and credibility and has become a part of propaganda. Cynicism, arrogance and disinformation are the new faces of the Russian diplomatic corps.
On March 31, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the city of Buch from the invaders; 2 years have passed, and the criminal returned to the crime scene, now in the information space. Russia clumsily continues to whitewash itself and shift the blame. But the soldiers of the 234th Air Assault Regiment from Pskov (or what is left of them) know the truth, and their relatives see the truth because the "brave liberators" boasted about murder, torture and robbery of civilians in telephone conversations.
The Russian Ambassador's first narrative of a "gesture of goodwill" is a distorted mirror of his imagination. The Russian army retreats with its tail between its legs only when it receives a worthy rebuff. Over time, such "gestures of goodwill" have become more frequent. When Ukraine liberated the Kharkiv region, Russia called it "regrouping"; when Russia retreated from Kherson, it called it "taking up more favorable positions". Thus, the occupiers did not show any goodwill in the Kyiv region but left hundreds of dead not only in Bucha but also in the surrounding villages.
Secondly, journalists from CNN, BBC, Bild, Reuters, AFP, Bellingcat, Deutsche Welle, The Guardian, The New York Times, and Associated Press carried out independent investigations into the Bucha tragedy. The journalists saw with their own eyes the corpses of people with their hands tied, their bodies shot through, tortured in the basements of their own homes. The cruelty of the Russian army became a shock to the world, and only Russia still insisted that its military did not do it. However, once a killer starts to kill, he will not be able to stop. So we can expect more killings, but this time of their own citizens when the surviving military from the Russian army will return to their homeland.
Thirdly, the Ambassador refers to an investigation by The Guardian, which supposedly proved that 'most of the deaths were caused by anti-personnel mines used by the Ukrainians'. The Guardian's findings were opposed to those put forward by Russian propaganda. Moreover, the Russian army has large quantities of the same munitions. Moreover, according to forensic experts who examined the bodies of the murdered Bucha residents, 85% of them died from small arms fire, most of them in the head.
The leaders of more than 50 countries and more than 20 international organizations condemned the barbarity of the Russian occupiers in Bucha. The Ukrainian initiative to establish a special tribunal for Russia for the crime of aggression was supported by 44 countries.
As for Ambassador O. Rudakov's appeals to the UN, we recall the decision of the UN court of March 16, 2002, which ordered Russia to cease hostilities on the territory of Ukraine.
The Russian Ambassador to Lebanon has high hopes for the truth and its victory. Well, the international community and the Ukrainian state will prove the involvement of all those responsible for the crimes and genocide against the Ukrainian people, and the Hague Tribunal will convict all the criminals because tens of thousands of graves throughout Ukraine are waiting for the truth that will defeat the Russian lies!”
