NNA - Minister of Information, Paul Morcos, signed this afternoon the annual action plan with UNICEF to promote children's rights, protect them, and encourage their participation in the media. The event was attended by UNICEF representative in Lebanon, Andrea Berther, and a delegation from the organization. This annual workplan falls within the framework of the joint work program between the Ministry of Information and UNICEF, launched in 2023, and aims to strengthen media capacity with regards ethical reporting on children’s issues.

Morcos said, "We are in the process of signing this additional action plan with UNICEF, as a continuation of the remarkable efforts made in the past to build the capacity of the official national media, and particularly the units of the Ministry of Information and Tele Liban. Today, it renews the support that the new presidential term and the government launched, and what it promised to initiate reforms and help in Lebanon’s recovery.”

He concluded: "Therefore, we are working with UNICEF to build media capacity and skills in addressing children's and youth issues, adhere to ethical guidelines for protecting children in the media, and provide educational and awareness programs for children about their rights."
