Retired Military Servicemen refuse any wage increase that does not meet their demands

NNA - The "Retired Military Servicemen Movement" rejected in a statement today any increase in wages that does not meet their rightful demands.

It underlined that "the wage increase should be commensurate with the rate of inflation and the loss of the purchasing value of salaries, i.e. it should be balanced with the increase in the cost of the food basket and health, education and life services, in addition to the value of fees and taxes that have increased ten folds, and therefore the wage increase must be based on scientific study, not impromptu or random, following the policy of escaping forward."

The statement also called for adopting the same criteria in increasing wages, applying justice and equality in the increase decided for military service retirees.

"As the Movement warns the ministerial committee in charge of studying the wage increase file for the public sector against formulating proposals that deviate from these two demands, that is, ignoring the law and returning again to the arbitrary approach and discrimination, it affirms that it will confront with all strength and firmness any injustice affecting the rights of retired military servicemen and will hold the committee and the government responsible for any unfavourable consequences."
