NNA - Caretaker Finance Minister, Mohammed Safadi, met on Thursday at his Ministry office with the Director of the Middle East, Africa and West Asia at the World Bank, Inger Andersen, where they discussed the report put forward by the Bank to the International Support Group on Lebanon's needs regarding the displaced Syrians.



Minister Safadi and Andersen tackled the best mechanism that enables Lebanon to obtain the needed assistance for addressing this pressing predicament.



Safadi lauded the World Bank's role in assessing the impact of the displaced Syrians' issue on Lebanon, thus providing the basis for any international support for Lebanon.



He called on "the international community to translate its promises and pledges into concrete assistance."
