NNA - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Youssef Rajji, received a call this afternoon from British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, who conveyed his country's and the European Union's support for Lebanon.

Lammy stressed the importance of Lebanon remaining outside the ongoing war between Iran and Israel, and warned of the serious repercussions for the country in the event of any intervention in this conflict.

He also revealed that the United Kingdom is working to prevent the war from escalating and to reach a diplomatic solution, adding that Iran must abide by international resolutions related to the nuclear issue.

Regarding the situation in South Lebanon, the British Foreign Secretary affirmed that his country would continue to do everything necessary to secure the Israeli army's withdrawal from the five points, supporting Lebanon's demand to renew UNIFIL's mandate and continue its mission.
