NNA – Baabda Presidential Palace witnessed on Wednesday a series of ministerial and political meetings, addressing the general situation in Lebanon and developments in the region.

 In this framework, President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, met with Minister of Culture, Dr. Ghassan Salameh, with whom he discussed the current situation in light of the ongoing security developments and their implications.

President Aoun also received MP Wael Abou Faour, with whom he broached the general situation and local and regional issues.

On the parliamentary level, President Aoun received MP Dr. Ghassan Skaff, who briefed him on the outcome of his trip to the United States of America.

On emerging, MP Skaff said that he discussed with the President  the general situation in the country.

Diplomatically, President Aoun received at Baabda palace,  German Ambassador to Lebanon, Kurt-George Stoeckl-Stillfried, accompanied by Colonel Kai Zimmermann. Ambassador, who briefed the President on the aid provided by Germany to the Lebanese Army, which includes equipment for the force that the Army intends to send to the South, as well as other equipment related to demining, protection devices, and other logistical equipment.

President Aoun thanked the German ambassador for the German assistance and discussed with him the current situation in light of the Israeli-Iranian conflict and its repercussions, as well as Lebanon's position on these developments.

The discussion also addressed the role of UNIFIL in the south in light of Lebanon's adherence to its continued presence.

At Baabda Palace, President Joseph Aoun also received a delegation from the family of the late Nouhad Al-Shami.
