NNA - Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Tuesday met at the Grand Serial with Telecoms Minister, Johnny Corm, who informed his host of the strike observed by the telecom sector's employees.

“I’ve shared with the prime minister my point of view regarding the fact that companies cannot bear any additional burdens; we are not ready to change any decision now regarding the wage hike that they are demanding,“ Corm said, adding that “the disruption of public facilities is a red line. We are seeking legal ways to deal with the matter.”

Mikati later received MP Qassem Hashem, with whom he discussed an array of local affairs.

The PM also held talks with the Director of the Army Intelligence, General Toni Qahwaji.

Mikati later received head of the Industrialists' Association, Salim Al-Zeinni with whom he discussed the industrialists' demands. 

“We seek to reduce the mounting burdens of the industrial sector,” Zeinni said on emerging.
