NNA - Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rahi met on Wednesday in Dimane with a delegation of Kataeb Party, chaired by MP Sami Gemayel.

In remarks following the meeting, Gemayel stressed the necessity of electing a new president who is "capable of taking Lebanon to a better place."

"Our party is communicating with the opposition forces, and we ae trying to form a coordination framework at this critical stage," he said.

"Contacts are underway with all the blocs, including the Lebanese Forces and the Progressive Socialist Party, in order to reach a unified position," he added.
